Why are testimonies so important in discovering your identity in God? It's a gentle way to change perspectives. Human beings automatically step into a story and place ourselves in the speaker's role. How would I feel, what would I do, and is this like me?
We can almost always find something we relate to even if we don’t have their exact struggle. We see that the human experience of joy and suffering is universal. If we see a bit of ourselves, we have compassion, hope, and recognize a need to do something different in our own life. This "something needs attention" awareness starts you on the path of discovering your identity in God.
